  • Overview

    R&P is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Systems Engineer ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all aspects (performance, cost, schedule) and all phases (design and development) of the Zumwalt Class technology.
    • Provides technical engineering knowledge, expertise and recommendations.
    • Leads all appropriate program briefings, when required.
    • Gives work direction, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
    • Formulates plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for development, maintenance, and modernization programs.
    • Provide and support structured process improvement activities.
    • Research and analyze current and future architecture limitations.
    • Provide guidance for software development activities.
    • Work closely with the Project Management Team documenting and managing requirements (hardware, systems & software).

    Qualifications

    • BS in engineering
    • Ten-years of engineering experience
    • Documented experience with Risk Reviews,Requirements Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and all Engineering Meetings
    • Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in ship design, ship production or ship systems testing
    • Must have an in-depth knowledge of shipbuilding (design, production, test and trials), U.S. Navy HM&E Systems and Post Delivery Engineering
    • Experience in the operation, maintenance, logistical support or testing of shipboard electrical or mechanical equipment, desired
