  • Overview

    R&P is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Machinery Control System Engineer ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform surveys, studies, analysis, ship-checks, and technical reports for material readiness on Machinery Control Systems.
    • Coordinate the design and testing of U.S. Navy control system software applications.
    • Provide technical support for software engineering and acquisition of software intensive systems to include Software Certification, Navy Open Architecture, NAVSEA policy, and NSWCPD Machinery Software Support Activity policy and process
    • Provide consultation on lessons learned from Department of Defense Software Development from outside of the organization.
    • Devise plans and implementation for transition from software Capability Maturity Model towards Capability Maturity Model Integration Assessment.
    • Provide software engineering and Government acquisition guidance for software intensive systems. This guidance is to be applicable to NAVSEA and NSWCPD, specializing in software safety and software safety plans.
    • Conduct and execute all QA activities in accordance with NSWCPD’s Standard Software based Systems Process (SSP).
    • Conduct periodic and milestone software QA audits and prepare audit results for distribution.
    • Conduct software-based system quality assurance audits.
    • Design and develop software processes and procedures related to quality assurance in the organization’s standard process.
    • Develop and provide QA awareness training.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, files, drawings, technical reports, and review drawings/specifications.

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree in engineering or computer science
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Knowledge of U.S. Navy shipboard machinery control systems
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience coordinating the design and testing of U.S. Navy control system software applications
    • Experience should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, repair, test, and provide technical guidance on equipment and systems
    • Secret Security Clearance
    • US Citizen
