Overview

R&P is seeking an Information System Security Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Philadelphia Division in Philadelphia, PA. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. The selected candidate will be identifying, installing, testing, and verifying various softwares in accordance with Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Pre-Installation Checkout (PICO) Virus Scans of shipboard systems
  • Identifies, installs, tests and verifies OS-level and software-level patches and/or STIGs in accordance with IA and Cybersecurity standards.
  • Administers and manages Information Assurance and Cybersecurity for multiple systems.
  • Develops and manages IA and Cybersecurity processes in accordance with DOD standards.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures
  • Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications and/or training and work experience.
  • 5 years of directly related experience in network administration and support of Microsoft and/or Linux-based systems.
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ or be able to obtain this certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Active Secret Security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.
