Overview

R&P is looking for a motivated professional who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Senior Acquisition Analyst ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Acquisition Analyst to support the most complex surface ship modernization effort ever undertaken.  The position directly supports the DDG Modernization 2.0 Program Management Office (PMS 451) within NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard and requires a strong on-site presence.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proactive mindset, driven to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement effective solutions. They should demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to contribute positively as part of a team. A passion for problem-solving and a desire to make meaningful contributions to program success are key qualities for this role.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Apply knowledge of DoD acquisition, contract, technical, and business management to provide effective management and oversight of the program
  • Use understanding of DoD contracts and contract analysis and DoD contracting processes to support the client
  • Review various attachments and exhibits to the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Depot Maintenance Availability Contracts including Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs), Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) Structures, etc and provide recommendations for changes or improvements that will drive contractor performance
  • Assist in developing CNO Availability Requests for Proposals
  • Conduct Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) analysis and provide executive level highlights to program leadership
  • Use Cost and Software Data Reporting (CSDR), Cost Assessment Data Enterprise, and Defense Cost and Resource Center (DCARC) to perform in-depth analysis to track performance
  • Serve as the Project Manager for the Program Management, Admin, and Cost Estimating support teams
  • Responsible for delivering accurate deliverables and assisting the Acquisition Manager with acquisition, financial management, and production support services
  • Proactively identify and propose mitigation strategies for cost and schedule risk
  • Assist in developing and executing budgets, work breakdown structures, and other management processes to monitor and control projects
  • Supervisory duties include but are not limited to assisting team members with proper training in their duties, as well as pertinent program databases and systems

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in DoD Acquisition and:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of related Acquisition management or related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred) or DAWIA equivalent
  • DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process) and Surface Ship Maintenance and Modernization experience (highly desirable)
  • Active SECRET Clearance required

Salary
