Overview

R&P is looking for an experienced Program Manager for U.S. Navy surface ships who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a senior Program Manager with U.S. Navy program management and shipbuilding/ship repair experience ready to join a high priority, fast-paced, and exciting program to modernize U.S. Navy large surface combatants.

Responsibilities

Working with the U.S. Navy BBG(X) Program Office and NSWC PCD in Panama City, FL, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Sea Fighter test vessel. Utilizing vast engineering and program management experience, you will be responsible for establishing good working relationships with our PMS 460/470 clients and the myriad of BBG(X) stakeholders. You will be applying your program management, engineering, acquisition, planning, and written/oral communication skills, in direct support of PMS 460/470.  

  • Continually engage with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and future orders.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of BBG(X) cost, schedule and performance objectives, and the at-sea testing plans for Sea Fighter. 
  • Provide expert liaison services between PMS 460/470, NSWC PCD, and the Sea Fighter Crew.
  • Formulate visions, strategies, and plans to achieve program success and deliver required capabilities, on time and within budget.  
  • Perform programmatic analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, conclusions, findings, and recommendations. 
  • Develop reports, briefs, and presentations for executive level meetings and events.
  • Initiate and implement execution initiatives, projects and financial plans and products that can be leveraged to support PMS 460/470 program goals and objectives.
  • Participate in regular program management reviews and ensure contractual, financial, and technical progress and issues are addressed.
  • Develop and continuously maintain a business development network.
  • In coordination with the VP for Business Development, collaborate, schedule and conduct business development meetings with potential new customers.
  • Responsible for adherence to quality control and security policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and minimum of 20 years of experience is required.
  • Major Program Management (MPM) experience in U.S. Navy Surface Ships is required.
  • Experience in U.S. Navy shipbuilding and/or ship repair and modernization is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance or eligible to obtain Secret Clearance is required.

Salary
