Overview

R&P is looking for a motivated Logistics Analyst who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need Logistics Analyst ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment. This position provides Pre-commissioning logistics support to U. S. Navy ship's Prospective Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Department Heads. 

Responsibilities

  • Initiate purchase request for each hull for all necessary consumable office supplies and assist in inventory and issuance of consumable items.
  • Participate in documentation reviews to identify discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist the Supply Officer during inventory and track material shortage lists.
  • Provide technical support to supply department and incorporate previous lessons learned.
  • Assist the command with tracking the requisitioning, expediting and receipt of materials.
  • Coordinate the distribution and management of government provided industrial safety gear (hard hats, safety glasses, etc.) to crew personnel.
  • Assist Supply Department Head with instructions, notices, and various technical documentation.
  • Liaison with NAVSEA, SUPSHIP, shipbuilder, and vendors for logistics issues
  • Provide monthly status progress reports.
  • Develop and maintain lessons learned for certifications, ship trials, Crew Move Aboard (CMA), training, and sail away.
  • Manage database, update order status of purchase requests.
  • Track the progress of the POA&M for Supply Officer and assist with resolution for delinquent requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • Strong computer skills in the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Prior database experience with the ability to operate and update the Fleet Introduction Plan of Action and Milestone Program, Lessons Learned, ILS databases.
  • Ability to provide the Ship's with programs, documentation, and deliverables electronically during crew development through move-aboard.
  • Must be able to physically maneuver on board US Navy ships including accessing high and confined spaces and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Current Secret clearance or ability to obtain secret clearance.
  • Understanding of military terms and practices 
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task to address competing priorities.
  • Sound judgement in resolving various problems and making routine recommendations.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are essential in this team orientated-customer service position.

Salary

R&P offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes contributions towards health insurance, 401(k) matching, and other non-salary benefits. Exact salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
